congratulations
well done everyone!
no matter how the results have turned out,
the most important thing is you have survived.
move along now to more important things.
learn from this experience,
clear the next hurdle with even more confidence!

aroma of pain
i have always thought that only people in strait-jackets
would punish themselves with the agony
of enduring 42km
running...
and it would really take a person with a screw loose
to actually pay a fortune to break their legs, knees and ankles
to cover that 42km
running...
not forgetting the irrational start at 6am (what was i doing then?),
you had to get up at 4am to poo, pee and whatever,
so that you can jostle with 5999 others at the starting line
to cover that 42km
running...
by the time you near the U-turn point,
everyone is all dripping, dazed and thinking,
"man, i ONLY have 16km more! yippy!"
i stand by the path in my blades, holding bananas
an SOS singlet and wonder,
"man, why you do this to yourself?
to cover that 42km
running..."
perhaps it was the aroma of the pain induced sweat
perhaps it was the agony that bound the thousands
perhaps it was the fact that i needed to go home and get more sleep
a sudden surge of admiration hit me
you crazy guys and gals are really something
to cover that 42km
running...
have a good rest
and rave about your accomplishment
you deserve that respect
me?
i continue my quest
to cover 42km
blading...

the last lap...
it is time,
the time you have been waiting for (? really ?)
well, at least you have been preparing yourselves for la!
it is the last lap,
hang in there,
give it all your best.
you won't have any regrets.

got your report books?
not a time to feel bad,
not a time to heck care.
it's the long holidays,
make full use of it.
for once it is gone,
you will never get it back.
and when you look back,
it would be pointless to regret.
revise what you are weak in,
get ready for the next.
you will realise,
it pays.

is this really the last day?
2 years now
2 years later
does it end today?
i can only walk so far with you
it is all up to you now and forever
be brave
make the tomorrow the one you desire

happy children's day!
a day to honour our past,
a day to remember our humble beginnings,
a day to reflect and realign,
a day to regress legally,
a day for smiles.
a day to remember our humble beginnings,
a day to reflect and realign,
a day to regress legally,
a day for smiles.
celebrate your coming of age.
for me?
i will continue to enjoy my childhood ;)
it shall be my day,
every year.
has the curse been broken?
i cant believe it...
i am actually munching...
thank you for the wonderful antidote!
can you?
i am actually munching...
BROWNIES!!!
thank you for the wonderful antidote!

for those trapped...you can be free from the chains too!

I see the morning glory
It winds upon the tree
It tells the untold story of how things were meant to be
You saw the universe
Caught up in desperate dreams
You came and changed the ending
Changed it to save my fate
You led the revolution
You left your legacy
Embraced the struggle in the face of mortality
I know I'm not alone in this
Help me believe
I can be free
I can be free from this place
Beautiful healer
Beautiful grace
Help me to see
Everything fall into place
Wake me from dreaming
No more deceiving
Break these chains
It's still the same old story
This great divide
Between the want and waste
And all the hunger inside
I heard the news today
Now I'm trying to find my place
I'm just a single voice
What can I do to erase
All this misunderstanding
All this anarchy
Six degrees of separation
Sometimes it's so hard to see
That we are not alone in this
I need to believe
I can be free
I can be free from this place
Beautiful healer
Beautiful grace
Help me to see
Everything fall into place
Wake me from dreaming
No more deceiving
Break these chains

given my sua gu (mountain turtle) status,
i only chanced upon this local singer-song writer
only recently.
simple and earnest compositions,
no need for others to guess,
no need to hide behind riddles.
hiding is only a sign of insecurity and weakness.
open your heart, your mind.
p.s. her religion and experiences have influenced her compositions.
me is no christian, but i respect her faith and sincerity.
